👻🎃 Halloween Read-A-Thon: Announcement, Sign Ups & Giveaway!! 🎃👻

That’s right, friends. My Halloween Read-A-Thon is BACK!!!!! You may get a bit of deja vu reading this post because I didn’t change a whole heap. THIS YEAR THERE’S A GIVEAWAY THOUGH!!!!!!!!! For for those of you who didn’t participate last year: LET’S GET READY TO READ ALL THE SPOOKY BOOKS.

💀 The read-a-thon is going to run from the 10th October – 31st October.

💀 You can join in at any time until the end of the read-a-thon.

💀 You can read as many or as little books as you want!!!

💀 The books HAVE to be horror, thriller and/or have some kind of supernatural element!! Except for one challenge, but more on that below. I’m sorry if these genres aren’t your cup of tea, but it wouldn’t really be a Halloween themed read-a-thon otherwise.

💀 When posting your TBR link back to this post so other people can join in!! Share the spooky love!! If you don’t have a blog that’s okay!! You can post your TBR on Twitter, Instagram, Goodreads, YouTube – ANYWHERE!!

💀 Use the hashtag #HalloweenWR to share your progress on social media!!

💀 The giveaway opens on the 26th September and closes on the 30th October. You can enter anytime between those dates. The winner will be announced on the 31st October.

💀 The giveaway is International as long as Book Depository ships to you.

💀 One person will win book(s) of their choice from the Horror, Thriller or Paranormal genre valued up to $20AUD.

💀 You don’t have to complete the challenges to be eligible for the giveaway. All you have to do is leave a link to your TBR and link back to this post.

💀 I’ll need your address so you have to be 18+ to enter or have your parents/guardians permission.

To participate in the read-a-thon you don’t have to complete the challenges! This read-a-thon is just all about reading spooky books! Personally, when I’m participating in read-a-thons I just like having something base my TBR around.

💀 You’re able to use the same book for multiple challenges.

💀 Feel free to make any changes you want because I want to keep this read-a-thon as chill as possible!

💀 You’re welcome to use the banners I made for your own TBR posts if you’d like!

🕸 Pretty self explanatory. There’s no “guidelines” if you think a cover is creepy for whatever reason then it counts!

🕸 By Supernatural or Paranormal I mean books that feature things such as: ghosts, vampires, witches, werewolves ect.

🕸 Example: Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

🕸 In my opinion people are scarier than monsters so for Horror or Thriller this means a book where real people are the ones who are causing all the scariness.

🕸 Example: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

🕸 Again, pretty self explanatory. Fun fact: the witching hour is 3am-4am, but obviously I’m not going to force you all to read at that time 😅. Unless you’re like me and have insomnia. So just read a book after the sun has set! This doesn’t have to be done in one night! You can read a book at night for the duration of the read-a-thon.

🕸 I know this isn’t technically reading but what’s Halloween without some spooky movies? All you have to do is watch any movie that falls under the Horror, Thriller or Supernatural genre. If you want to add a bit more of a reading twist to this then you could always read a horror/thriller book and then watch it’s movie adaptation!

🕸 There’s two options for this challenge. You can choose TRICK and read a scary book you’ve been putting off OR you can choose TREAT and read any book you want from ANY genre (not just horrors ect.)

🕸 Read seven books! Your seventh book can be any scary book you want. Only do this if you want! I know how it is to feel intimidated by read-a-thons so I really wanted to try and make this as relaxing as possible. There’s probably no way I’m going to be able to do this, but it’s fun to try!
