My Answers to Your Questions Part 2 // More About Me

Hello beautiful people! I’ve been absent – again – because I was hit with the flu pretty hard. Today is the first day I’ve been able to really get out of bed. If you’re following me on Twitter I’m sure you’ve seen all my Tweets complaining 😅

I figured what better way to come back than to make a post about myself 😎 I’m going to be answering the non-book related questions from my 6 months of blogging post. I promise I hadn’t forgotten ♥

Jill @ Rant and Rave About Books & Lindsey @ Lindsey Reads asked: What’s your favourite song/on your playlist right now that you’d recommend?

Oh man! Where do I start! This changes so often it’s ridiculous. I’m still in a post-concert depression state after seeing Pierce The Veil so I’ve been playing their albums a lot. Currently here’s some songs I’ve been jamming too:

Carrianne @ Carrianne’s Cuppa ‘n Critiques asked: Have you ever had a crush on an animated character?

Okay, I love this question 😅 I actually can’t think of anyone off the top of my head? Most animated shows/movies I’ve watched feature animals. I think I might have had a crush on Sailor Jupiter without realising it 😅

Donna @ chocolatenwaffles asked:

How many socks do you own?

Another amazing question! Unfortunately, not as many as I’d like. I tend to lose socks more than a normal person should so I just buy a few multi packs of these plain black ones from Target for $3 haha. I do want to buy some cute printed ones though! I’m just worried I’ll lose them!!

What’s your favorite flower?

I’m not really a flower person, but for as long as I can remember I’ve always answered this question with Daisies. I’m not even sure why. I love black roses too.

Do you prefer baths or showers?

Showers! I like having the occasional bath too especially with bath bombs or bubble bath (yes, I’m a child)

Reg @ She Latitude asked:

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?

I’ve eaten crocodile 🙈 If offered it now I would 100% turn it down, but I was like 6 at the time so I was just like “okay!” haha. It was a burger patty and it honestly tasted so much like chicken, just tougher. I’ve had kangaroo when I was younger too (never again, it was so rich and the thought of eating a kangaroo actually makes me want to cry now).

A strange (maybe?) thing I eat regularly now is Maccas french fries dipped in their chocolate thickshakes and soft served ice cream. It’s so good 💯👌🏻

What does a day in your life look like?

Really incredibly boring? 😂😂 I have an internal debate when I wake up about getting out of bed. Then coffee. I “work” from home by taking care of my younger siblings and helping home school them when my parents work. So I guess my day is a lot like a stay at home mum? Haha! Then I try and work in reading/blogging/design. I also run the social media for my paranormal investigation group so I’ll check that sporadically throughout the day.

Vivian @ Inked in Pages asked: If you could live anywhere in the world, real or fictional, where would you live?

It was tempting to include this in my book post and answer with a different fictional world, but I thought I’d keep it real haha. If I could live ANYWHERE it would be London. I’ve wanted to live there since I was really little. In a more realistic sense though I want to move to Melbourne because it sounds amazing. The city looks incredible, there’s so many great local bands and my favourite person in the world lives there ♥ (hey, Sheridan if you’re reading this).

Jamie @ Watch Game Read asked: What’s your favorite band?

Oh boy. I hope you guys have some spare time because we’re going to be here a while 😉 There is absolutely NO WAY I can choose just one.

Bolded = I’ve seen live

Pierce The Veil, All Time Low, Pvris, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, You Me At Six, Bring Me The Horizon, The Maine, State Champs, The Wonder Years, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Little Mix,  Simple Plan, Real Friends, Pentimento, Mayday Parade, Paramore, Tonight Alive, The 1975, Marianas Trench, Moose Blood, With Confidence, Parkway Drive, A Day to Remember, The Amity Affliction, blessthefall, Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men, Twenty One Pilots, British India, Kisschasy, Bastille, blink-182, Short Stack, Against The Current, La Dispute, letlive. We Are The In Crowd, Brand New & Hands Like Houses

Also in regards to solo artists: Halsey, Taylor Swift, Haley Kiyoko & Ed Sheeran

Okay, wow. I’m going to stop now. There’s probably so many I’ve forgotten too. I’ll come back to this post and be like DAMN IT! HOW DID I FORGET! Here have a playlist of my fave songs from said bands/artists:

Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books asked: If you could travel to ONE place in the world, where would it be?

I’ve never left the state I live in so honestly I’d be happy to travel anywhere, haha. The number one place though is definitely London! I really want to travel all over the UK and Europe. I’d also really like to visit Greece because my nana’s family were from there. After reading A Fierce and Subtle Poison I’d love to visit Puerto Rico too.

Thank you so much for all the questions!

Since most of these are music related (you guys know me too well ♥) let me know what your favourite song is at the moment?

Hope you’re all having a fantastic day xx

P.S I made a new blog header! I spent three days trying to find a new theme because I don’t like how the header works on this one, but I didn’t like any of them so I tried to make it work as best I could. It looks dodgy on phones, but it’ll have to do until I can purchase self-hosting!

  1. I always lose my socks, it’s a disease! They disappear, they play hide and seek, or maybe an ogre steals them! I always want to take a bath when I’m living somewhere that doesn’t have a tub, haha!

    1. Haha! I’m honestly thinking there’s an alternate dimension somewhere that all the socks fall into. Along with hair ties and bobby pins. Sometimes I’ll have the biggest urge to have a bath! I really want to start buying more bath bombs and things like that because they’re so nice.

  2. That’s so cool you do paranormal investigating! I’ve always watched programmes about that kinda stuff (even if most of them are probably faked), but I’ve stayed in a few haunted places that were just terrifying, so many weird things going on that couldn’t be explained! I hope you manage to travel to London one day! Even though I’m English I’ve always had a fascination with London too. It’s just such an amazing city, but I would love to see Australia!

    1. Thanks! It’s a lot of fun! It’s a shame that there’s a lot of fake stuff out there because it really gives the whole field a bad reputation, haha. We’ll always try to find an explanation for what’s happening, but when something does that we can’t explain it’s honestly the most amazing experience ever! So awesome that you’ve had some experiences of your own!!

I hope so too! It just seems like such an incredible city. I hope you get to visit here too.

  3. Ohh these are great questions, and I really enjoyed reading all your answers as well Lauren!
I would definitely recommend coming over to London to visit one day. It’s my favourite city as well, I’m pretty much taking any excuse I can get to go there (and considering I work there I have a lot of excuses to spend time in the city once my workday is over!)
Also wow you’ve seen a lot of bands live, I’m kind of jealous. I haven’t heard of many of your favourites but I do love; Little Mix, Bastille, Taylor Swift and Of Mice and Men. They’re all favourites of mine as well.
I’m sorry you’ve been struck down with the flu, but I hope you’re feeling a little better now! 😀

    1. Thanks so much, Beth!

I would so love to visit London one day. It’s definitely something I’m working toward and one of the things that’s really motivating me to get better with my anxiety. It seems like such an incredible city.

I’m definitely really grateful 😊 I’m so glad you like those bands too! Of Mice & Men were great live!

And thank you again ♥ I’m finally feeling better now haha!

      1. That’s all right!
I’m sure you’d love it over here, and if you ever need any recommendations for things to see/do while you’re over here let me know because I’ll have a ton of suggestions I could give you! 🙂
Oh I can imagine they would have been amazing live, then again I’ve never seen a band that wasn’t amazing live.
That is good, I always hate being ill so it’s great you’re feeling a little better now!

  4. Awesome answers, Lauren. I love that you added all the music links. That’s so helpful. 🙂 I’ve always wanted to go to London. I even applied to jobs there in the past but the visa stuff is so complicated. 😂 Maybe someday. I definitely plan to go for a vacation within the next year or so. 🙂

  5. Great answers! We like a lot of the same bands/solo musicians and you’ve seen so many of them live. I’m jealous. If only concerts weren’t so expensive I would go so many 🙈. I’ve seen 5sos live as well though and they were incredible 😃! And I almost got to see Ed Sheeran on his last tour but I ended up getting really sick right before the day of the concert and couldn’t go 😢. Also, I’m with you on London! I’ve always wanted to visit so bad. One day, one day. 😊

    1. Thanks! And yay! I’m glad you like them too 😊 Ah I know. It has resulted in me being broke because I always have to travel like six hours. I’ve had to miss out on a few, but if I lived closer I would be going to all of them. 5SOS were so good!! And aw, I’m sorry you were sick before the Ed concert 😦 That would have been awfuul! And yess. Hopefully we’ll both get to visit there soon!

  6. Awesome answers! What does paranormal investigation entail? Does the group stay overnight haunted places? Seems like it would be something terrifying and fun to do.
So many bands!!! And so many of them seen live too. I’ve never actually attended concerts from famous bands, mostly because they’re usually held in Kuala Lumpur when they do come to Malaysia, and I’d have to fork over money for ticket, airfare and hotel prices if I want to go 😦 Anyway, please excuse me while I go listen to some bands I’ve never heard of 🙂

    1. Thanks!! And yeah sometimes we’ll stay overnight or for a few hours. We basically have a bunch of specialised equipment that detects changes in the electromagnetic field and we just have sessions were we do sweeps and ask for responses or ask questions and see if we get anything.

I’m definitely really grateful! And aw, that’s a shame 😦 I’ve actually had to travel a lot too because I’m six hours from my capital city. Fortunately, I can stay with family and catch a bus there so I haven’t had to pay for accommodation or air fairs.

I hope you find something you like 🙂

  7. OMG losing cute printed socks would be THE WORST. I have these cute Pikachu ones that I recently “lost” and I turned the whole apartment upside down just looking for it… only to find it where I should’ve looked, ofc. THE WORST.

I’ve eaten crocodile too, I think! Kangaroo as well but to me kangaroo was what tasted more like chicken, haha. Oops.

A day in your life is probably my dream life tbh. How old are your siblings? It’s so cool that you’re helping home-school them! Is that hard?

Also Of Mice and Men omfg. ❤

    1. Right! It’s why I’m so hesitant to buy any. I saw these really cute alien ones in Jay Jays the other day though and I’m trying so hard to resist the urge to buy them. I’m so glad you managed to find yours!

Haha! I love how the same things can be different for everyone.

😂😂😂 I have 5 siblings that range from 20-8, haha. The ones I help home school are 16, 13, 11 & 8. It can be tough at times (mostly the maths stuff), but otherwise it’s really fun!

Ah, yay! So glad you like them!!

  8. Do me a favor…check out Kill Hannah. They’re from my era (about 10 years ago), but I think you might like them. I was obsessed with them, and HIM, and Ween. But let me know if it’s your type of music. Just curious. My mom likes the slower Pierce the Veil songs…so do I. 😉

  9. Ah, thank you for all the music recommendations! Some we have in common and I’m definitely checking out the ones I didn’t know yet 🙂 Right now I’m discovering With Confidence! Also, so cool you saw Ed Sheeran live! I’ve been hoping to see him live or a long time now. Fingers crossed I’ll get the chance soon.
London is really great, hope you’ll get to travel there someday!

  10. Great post Lauren, I love learning more about you! I really like Closer by The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey lately as well, it’s always on repeat but other than that I haven’t really been keeping up with any music charts or hearing much that’s come out. I’ve found myself listening to Frank Sinatra ‘Newyork Newyork’ and ‘witchcraft’ as I get ready for work in the morning. It seems to calm me and reminds me of the old 90’s movies then it pushes any anxious thoughts I had the night before or I feel building up away and I just feel good. 😀

  11. I suck with music. I can’t keep up with the new and always listen to the same old stuff haha. I’m trying to change that though, because I’m getting really tired of my music. Halsey and Hayley are <3. I'm going to give all of these a go to see if I like them 😀

OMG you have 5 siblings and home school them?! You are amazing and your levels of patience must be through the roof. I have 3 older siblings and 2 small nephews and I'm a mess lmao. Your day sounds pretty cool.

Crocodile and kangaroo? You were an adventurous kid! 😛 Is that a regular thing in Australia or is it pretty rare? I'm so curious. I also used to eat the french fries with the ice cream! The salt from the french fries with the sweetness of the ice cream makes an interesting combination, I really like it 😀

    1. Haha, aw noo. You don’t suck ♥ Music has just kinda always been my thing 😅 Halsey and Haley are incredible. I love them so much!!

I’m actually really impatient when it comes to most things. I’m normally okay with them though. Sometimes they test my limits though, haha. I only really home school 3 of them though because one of my sister’s is at uni and the other is 16 so she’s pretty okay to do her own thing, haha.

Crocodile isn’t, but kangaroo is! Kangaroo burgers are a common thing on the menus at restaurants. My dad eats it a lot. I’m so glad you like the french fries and ice cream thing! Some people think it’s so weird and I’m like “hey, don’t knock it until you try it!!!” 😅
