Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
This Week’s Theme: Ten books you’d buy right this second if someone handed you a fully loaded gift card!
Alternative Title: Honestly All I’m going to do in this post is repeat the word “Pretty” and cry over books
Slight Disclaimer: None of these photos are mine, obviously, because I don’t own the books. All photos link to the original owner and if any of them somehow stumble across this blog and want them removed I’ll do so immediately!
Prices = Book Depository unless otherwise stated
In no particular order…
Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jeremy McCarter ($46 AUD)
I’m only new to Hamilton, but I’m already obsessed. I listen to various songs on the soundtrack every day. My favourites are Satisfied and Take A Break because I am Hamilton/Angelica trash. I want a copy of the Hamiltome SO BADLY. From all the photos I’ve seen it looks so beautiful. It’s quiet pricey so I don’t know when I’ll be able to order a copy. I hope I can soon though because LOOK AT IT. I want to cry. It’s so beautiful 😍
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Illustrated Edition) by J.K. Rowling and Illustrated by Jim Kay ($40 AUD)
I’m actually so mad at myself because I had a chance to buy this a few weeks ago, but I didn’t because I was trying to keep money back for dumb adult things like food and bills. The illustrations are so, so stunning.
Harry Potter US Boxset by J.K. Rowling ($111 AUD)
Obviously I already own the Harry Potter series. My copies are battered to pieces and I LOVE THEM. However that said the way the way the spines make the Hogwarts castle in this boxset is so beautiful. I’m not even going to lie – I want these purely for aesthetic purposes. Judge away.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Deluxe Illustrated Edition) by J.K. Rowling and Illustrated by Jim Kay ($180 AUD)
Are you sensing a theme yet? This is gorgeous. Do I even need to say anything else?
Harry Potter Page To Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey (Collector’s Edition) ($1,741 AUD)
Source: Nerd Approved
Hey, it said the gift card was fully loaded. Why shouldn’t I lash out? Apparently there were only 3,000 of these made and the only ones available now are on Amazon. If you’re giving me a gift card with infinite amounts of money you bet I’m taking the risk and buying this. This is worth it for the Care of Magical Creatures book alone.
The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Steifvater ($87 AUD)
I really want physical copies of this series because I only own them on my Kindle. The covers are beautiful especially The Raven King. As a bonus I’d love the Fountains Bookstore edition of The Raven King which comes with the drawings by Maggie and is signed. I don’t even know if there’s anymore of these left but hey I have a loaded gift card I’m sure I can work something out.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Other Stories (Barnes and Noble Leatherbound Edition) by Lewis Carroll and Illustrated by Sir John Tenniel ($40 AUD)
I love everything about Alice in Wonderland. The concept and characters are everything. I love that on the surface Wonderland seems like this incredible place, but if you look deeper it’s actually quiet dark and I think that’s something that can apply to so much in real life. This edition is STUNNING. It’s pink which is one of my favourite colours and those GOLD PAGE TRIMMINGS!!!!!! SEND HELP.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (Puffin Bloom Edition) by Lewis Carroll and Illustrated by Anna Bond ($30 AUD)

Just give me all the beautifully illustrated editions of Alice in Wonderland tbh. The art in this is looks so wonderful. I love the colours.
The Merciless series by Danielle Vega ($48 AUD)
The Merciless is one of my favourite horror books and I’m so excited to read the sequel. I love the design of these SO much. They suit the tone and feel of the book so much. I love that I look like a spell book or something. It’s honestly my aesthetic.
Illuminae by Aime Kaufman & Jay Kristoff ($25 AUD)
I bet you all thought I managed to make it through a post without mentioning this book, but please. I need the hardcover of this book for REASONS. The main one being how it looks under the dust jacket.
