BOOK TAG: Book Sacrifice

Book Sacrifice Tag

I was tagged to do this by the amazing Vivian @ Inked in Pages and Carrianne @ Cuppa ‘n Critiques! Go read their posts here and here and make sure to follow their blogs! Thanks so much for tagging me in this. The scenarios are hilarious.

Read the scenarios and choose a book to sacrifice.

If I mention a book you love then I’m sorry! It’s just a bit of fun xx

AN OVER-HYPED BOOK

Situation: You’re in a store when the zombie apocalypse hits. The military informs everyone that over-hyped books are the zombies only weakness. What book that everyone else says is amazing but you disliked do you start chucking at the zombies?

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I’m sorry. So many of you probably hate me now, but I just couldn’t get into this. I struggled so much to finish it and whilst the Shadowhunters show has made me consider picking the series back up I’m not sure when I’ll get to it and I keep putting it off.

A SEQUEL

Situation: Torrential downpour. What sequel are you willing to use as an umbrella to protect yourself?

The Death Cure by James Dashner

I hate the ending so much I am willing to sacrifice it. I know it’s a kind of ~ unpopular opinion ~ to be upset about the thing I’m upset with, but ugh I’M STILL SO SAD ABOUT IT.

A CLASSIC

Situation: You’re in English class and your professor raves about a Classic that “transcends time”. If given the opportunity to travel back in time, which Classic would you try to stop from ever publishing?

I haven’t read enough classics to answer this! All the ones I’ve read so far I’ve enjoyed. If I had to read them for school then I’m sure it’d be a different story, haha.

A LEAST FAVOURITE BOOK

Situation: Apparently global warming = suddenly frozen wasteland. Your only hope of survival for warmth is to burn a book. Which book will you not regret lighting?

Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James After by Anna Todd

I’m gonna be extra warm and am willing to share 😉 I can’t even explain how much I hate these books. I haven’t read them, but I’ve seen enough to know that I NEVER EVER want to.

I tag:

Megan @ Pitch Black Sky

Beth @ Reading Every Night

Yasaman @ Following Muses

Fadwa @ Word Wonders

& anyone else who wants to do it!

Like always don’t feel pressured if you don’t want to do it and sorry if you’ve already done it and I missed the post!

I have a few more tag posts I need to do so if you’re okay with being tagged in upcoming ones, let me know ❤

  1. I’m so glad you’ve included After in the books your least favourite books! I really don’t understand why it was ever published, it belongs on wattpad within the one direction fandom 😂

  2. Thanks so much for the tag Lauren! I’ve seen this tag around a lot and the questions always make me laugh so I can’t wait to actually take part in this one!
I completely agree with you about The Death Cure, I liked the series OK but I did not like that ending; it seemed to come completely out of the blue! Also I have so many classics I could pick, I’m not really a fan but I was pretty much forced to read them during GCSE and A Level English!
    Thanks again!

    1. Yay! I can’t wait to see your answers 🙂

Right! I felt like it was so rushed, too. A major thing happened and then a few pages later it was the end? I really liked the series, but that ending just tainted so much of it.

Haha, I can imagine that wouldn’t have always been fun! I’m very interested to see which one you pick 😀

      1. It happened so quickly as well, like sometimes in books there are character deaths where I have to go back and re-read because I wasn’t aware anything that big had actually happened, this was definitely one of those books!
Have you read The Kill Order? I wasn’t a fan of The Death Cure but I LOVED the prequel for the series.
It’s kind of a choice between two because both were pretty dire and it was honestly such a struggle to get through them! I’m never gonna be a fan of classics I think!

        1. Oh my god, I know right! I just kept thinking “wait, did that actually happen?”. I haven’t got to The Kill Order, yet, but I am planning on reading it as soon as I can!

That’s understandable. I think not having to read them in school was definitely a positive because I can just read whichever ones I chose and don’t have to worry about assignments or anything like that, haha.

          1. It was just completely out of the blue, and I thought it was a ducky thing to do to her character as well, she deserved either a proper death or a proper resolution. I would definitely recommend The Kill Order, it was probably my favourite of the whole series.
Julius Caesar and The Lord of the Flies were the worst, it was really a struggle getting through them. I wonder if I would have enjoyed them more if I hadn’t had to read them for school.

              1. He had no reaction at all, it just seemed really off and I wasn’t a fan!
I’d be interested to see what you think of Lord of the Flies, maybe if you enjoy it I’ll be tempted to try it again, see if not reading it for school improves it in my mind 😀

  3. I am so with you on City of Bones. Plus all the Lady Midnight talk is making me want to pick the series up again (I stopped after the 3rd one). And I actually really enjoy the show so who knows what I’m gonna do!

  4. I have seen so many people who don’t like The Mortal Instruments! Seems like it’s either a series you absolutely love or hate. 🙂

    1. Ahh, yay! I can’t wait to see your answers 😀 Haha, right. I can imagine it’s an easy one for a lot of people, but because I never had to read them for school I’ve only read a handful and I’ve been able to pick them freely so I’ve enjoyed them all.

      1. You’re very lucky with that! Having to read a book always ends up in a disaster for me. I had to read a few for school, but luckily not too many. Ohh, while writing this I just came up with a classic that I couldn’t stand and started skimming halfway through :’D
