Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tyngas Reviews, visit the official launch page to find out more!
This is my very first time participating in Stacking the Shelves and I’m very excited! Can’t wait to make it a regular part of my Saturday!
Anyway, onto the books!!
This is the first time I’ve bought books in months because I only just got out of an almost year long reading slump, but now I’m diving back in and I’m feeling really motivated and excited. Let’s ignore that my shelves are FULL of books I haven’t read, but that doesn’t stop me from continuing to buy new ones.
The Rule of Thoughts by James Dashner
Firstlife by Gena Showalter
The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
Iron Trial by Cassandra Clare & Holly Black
Zeroes by Scott Westerfield, Margo Langan & Deborah Biancotti
Lady Helen and the Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
I also downloaded A TON of classical eBooks from Project Gutenberg and the Amazon Kindle store. The best part about this was nearly ALL of these eBooks were free.
Aesop’s Fables by Aesop.
Anderson’s Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Anderson
Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner
The Yellow Wall-Paper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
What Diantha Did by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
The Crux by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Herland by Charlote Perkins Gilman
The Complete Grimm’s Fairy Tales by Jacob Grimm & Wilhelm Grimm
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving
The Turn of The Screw by Henry James
Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
1984 by George Orwell
The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
The Time Machine by H.G. Wells
The Picture of Dorian Grey By Oscar Wilde
I just read Peter Pan not too long ago (and just posted the review on my blog) and it was very enjoyable! I hope you like it.
I should read The Wizard of OZ. I’ve seen the movie countless times, but never read the book.

Ooh, awesome! I’ll definitely go check it out 🙂 I was never a huge fan of the movie, but I love the concept and some retellings so I decided I should try the book and it was free, so haha!

Haha, I know what you mean! I probably have like 100 books on my shelves that I haven’t read and then there’s all the epubs and books on my Goodreads. I really need to stop, but it’s just too addicting.

I have Firstlife and I still haven’t read it! I should soon. I really want Illuminae!!! I was thinking of getting the audio but I want the book in hardback so I can see the different writing formats in the book. I hope you enjoy all of these!

I have no idea when I’ll get around to reading it, haha, my TBR pile is insane. It sounds really interesting! And yes, I definitely recommend getting a physical copy of Illuminae if only for purely shallow and aesthetic reasons haha. It’s such a beautiful book. I already had it on my Kindle, but I couldn’t resist picking up the physical too. Thank you!

I just picked up The Passenger and First Life in audio – I hope you enjoy them. I keep telling myself that I am going to read more classics – but I never seem to fit them in my schedule. I have been wanting to read Picture of Dorian Grey for a while now. Happy reading!

Nice!! I’m trying really hard to fit them in, but then I just keep getting distracted by other books, haha. Dorian Grey looks really interesting! I think that’s one I’ll be reading soon-ish.
